Gypsy Winter Dreams Figurine
By Jennifer MacNeill-Traylor
Item # 4046337 |
When this artist was a child, it seemed like every Christmas she was put in charge of organizing the Christmas decorations, and it never failed. No matter how neatly they were put away the year before, the Christmas lights would be tangled into knots that took forever to straighten. Then, inevitably, one bulb wouldn't light so the rest wouldn't work... but that would
be a whole other Painted Pony.

With their long forelocks and thick manes and tails, Gypsy Vanners evoke a romance and beauty unlike any other horse breed. Often pictured grazing in emerald-green Irish meadows or pulling ornate wagons down country lanes, delighting the imagination of this artist is the image of a Gypsy Vanner playing Santa as it delivers sacks of gifts on Christmas Eve.

Welcome to the Royal Palace, where you are invited to throw open the stable doors and go for a Royal Ride on a prancing Royal Pony that is decorated with glittering, golden hooves and a glorious, gilded saddle encrusted with rubies. Most certainly, a gift for a King or a Queen that will complete a Royal Holiday. |

A favorite Christmas memory of this artist is standing on her tiptoes for a closer look at a frosting-laden cookie-house atop her grandmother's dark wood table. Many years later, she would think how wonderful it would be to create her own Holiday treat - a Painted Pony made of gingerbread wearing candy cane, gum drops and sprinkles instead of a traditional saddle and bridle.

An impish rascal, Jack Frost embodies the playful side of winter - sledding, snowmen, snowball fights. So, it was a no-brainer for this artist, who has known her share of mischief-making Appaloosas, to create a “Jack Frost Painted Pony” that has grabbed a snowman’s hat for himself, and is as unique and beautiful in his own way as a snowflake. |

Halloween being this artist's favorite holiday, she was inspired to create a Painted Pony that brought back memories of autumn decorations and trick-or-treating, carved jack o'lanterns and campfires on chilly nights, pumpkin fields watched over by a black cat and a broom-riding witch silhouetted against a full moon. |
